چکیده

We present a high power RF coupler design for an interleaved 2 805 MHz standing wave accelerating structure proposed for an muon cooling experiment at FNAL. The coupler, in its simplest form, is a rectangular waveguide directly connected to an accelerating cell through an open slot on the cavity side-wall or end-plates. Two of such couplers are needed to feed the interleaved cavities. Current high power RF test requires the coupler to be at critical coupling. Numerical simulations on the coupler designs using MAFIA will be presented.

Design for a Muon Front End with Magnetically Shielded RF Cavities

In the baseline Neutrino Factory muon front end, strong, closely spaced solenoid magnets are used to contain the high emittance muon beam. In addition, significant acceleration is required for bunching, phase rotation and cooling, requiring RF cavities operating near to their maximum achievable gradient. There are experimental indications that RF cavities may not be able to achieve these large ...

High Power Rf Input Couplers and Test Stand for the Berlinpro Project

The bERLinPro project [1], under construction at HZB, is a 100 mA, 50 MeV superconducting RF (SRF) energy recovery linac (ERL) being built to study the accelerator technology and physics of operating a high current SRF ERL. For this high current operation, coaxial RF power couplers capable of handling 115 kW of power (per coupler, dual couplers per cavity), continuous wave (cw) at 1.3 GHz are r...

Development of High Rf Power Delivery System for 1300 Mhz Superconducting Cavities of Cornell Erl Injector*

Development of a 150 kW CW RF power delivery system for 1300 MHz superconducting cavities is under way at Cornell University in collaboration with MEPhI. The system is based on a twin-coupler consisting of two identical coaxial antenna-type couplers derived from the TTF III input coupler design. Because the average power is much higher than in the TTF III coupler, the required coupling is stron...

A 201 Mhz Rf Cavity Design with Non-stressed Pre-curved Be Windows for Muon Cooling Channels*

We present a 201-MHz RF cavity design for muon cooling channels with non-stressed and pre-curved Be foils to terminate the beam apertures. The Be foils are necessary to improve the cavity shunt impedance with large beam apertures needed for accommodating large transverse size muon beams. Be is a low-Z material with good electrical and thermal properties. It presents an almost transparent window...

Progress of Hom Coupler for Cern Spl Cavities∗

In this paper we present the progress of the HigherOrder-Mode (HOM) coupler design for the high beta CERN SPL (Superconducting Proton Linac) cavities. This includes the RF transmission behavior as well as mechanical and thermal requirements and their optimizations. Warm RF measurements are presented for the rst four high beta SPL Cavities made of bulk niobium. Moreover the rst prototype of a HO...
